Why FCIS?
Fairfax County is home to many established masājid and Islamic institutions. Yet within Fairfax City itself, there is a need for a dedicated Islamic presence serving residents, families, students, and professionals locally.
FCIS was established to help fill that gap.
Our goal is to create a welcoming community within Fairfax City. A place where Muslims can gather for worship, grow through knowledge, raise their children with faith and identity, and remain connected to Allah through meaningful programs and community life.
FCIS seeks to serve a local need within the city itself and build something rooted, accessible, and beneficial for the community.
Our Programs & Initiatives
FCIS is building a strong foundation for Islamic life in Fairfax City through faith, knowledge, and community.
Fairfax City Islamic Society, known as FCIS, is a community driven effort focused on establishing and growing Islamic services within Fairfax City.
FCIS currently operates as a DBA under Seek Ilm, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible through Seek Ilm.
As FCIS grows, the long term goal is to establish independent nonprofit status, in shā’ Allāh, while continuing to serve the community with sincerity, transparency, and responsible growth.
Our work begins with weekly Jumu‘ah and, with community support, will expand toward daily prayers, education, family programs, youth development, and other services that benefit Muslims in and around Fairfax City.
Our vision is to establish a permanent Islamic presence in Fairfax City centered around worship, knowledge, family, and community.
At this stage, weekly Jumu‘ah has been established. We hope to expand toward daily prayers in Fairfax City in the near future, in shā’ Allāh.

FCIS is being built gradually and responsibly, with the goal of serving the community in a way that is sustainable, sincere, and beneficial.
FCIS aims to develop educational programs grounded in traditional Islamic scholarship and authentic religious guidance.
Our goal is to provide reliable Islamic learning for children, youth, and adults. Future programming may include Qur’an classes, fiqh, Islamic manners, spiritual development, family guidance, and practical topics relevant to Muslim life.
Programs will be developed with the support and guidance of qualified scholars and teachers trained in the traditional Islamic sciences. We want FCIS to be a place where the community can benefit from sound knowledge, trustworthy instruction, and meaningful reminders that strengthen our relationship with Allah.
A masjid is more than a place to pray. It is a place where families connect, children grow, friendships form, and the community supports one another.
FCIS hopes to create opportunities for families and individuals to gather in a welcoming environment through various programs.
These programs will be introduced gradually as the community grows and support becomes available, in shā’ Allāh.
